Bio:
Steven Damon’s biotech and medtech leadership over the last 30 years has encompassed entrepreneurship and strategic partnerships in product development, commercialization, and investments with organizations including Kimberly-Clark, Altea Therapeutics, AstraZeneca, Durect, Femasys, Pain Therapeutics, Map Pharmaceuticals.
As CEO of Atlanta-based Micron Biomedical, Steven leads the company’s efforts to advance a vaccine and therapeutic platform that has been recognized by The Lancet as “game-changing” in improving access to life-saving medicine. Under his leadership the company’s “microarray” platform has been recognized by government, industry, academia and global health organizations, including the CDC’s first clinical trial of a needle-free vaccine and a government contract to develop the world’s first microarray biosecurity/radiation therapy. Through his leadership the company has also received international recognition from the World Economic Forum, the World Health Organization, Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and others for the platform’s ability to overcome infrastructure challenges in how therapeutics are manufactured, stored, transported and administered.
Steven’s leadership helped Micron Biomedical bring measles and rubella vaccines to children as young as 6-weeks old who would otherwise lack access while advancing the platform to developed nations to address health disparities, biosecurity threats, and consumer preferences and demand for needle-free versions of traditionally injected medicine.
